Herniated Disc in the Back? Laser Spine Institute Can Help.

Herniated Disc in the Back? Laser Spine Institute Can Help.

If you’ve been suffering from a herniated disc in your back and conservative treatment methods have failed to bring relief, then you’re probably at your wits end. Perhaps your doctor recommended surgery, but you may not be a candidate or don’t want to take the inherent risks or deal with the long hospital stay or recovery time. If this sounds like your situation, then Laser Spine Institute (LSI) can help. We offer a number of minimally invasive, endoscopic procedures that can help you finally get your life back - a life without the debilitating pain and stiffness that a ruptured disc can cause.

Endoscopic Laser Spine Surgery for a Herniated Disc in the Back

Minimally invasive procedures are different because they use tiny endoscopic tools to reach the herniated disc rather than requiring a large incision and using handheld instruments. The size of these tools is so small that we only need a centimeter-long incision to insert them, and they are fed through a clear Depuy tube that we use to gently nudge muscles out of the way to get to the affected disc without having to cut through these tissues.

Once the surgeons have reached the disc, they use a high-tech camera to monitor the positioning of tools and carefully treat the disc with a specialized laser. The whole procedure takes just under an hour, and is done under local anesthesia and IV sedation rather than with general anesthesia. After a brief monitoring period, the patient is released to rest and recover in the comfort of their home or hotel before their post-operative checkup.
